School Choirs On Song at Wirral Festival

The Schools Intermediate and Chamber Choirs both performed at the Wirral Festival of Music last Saturday 24th March.

The Intermediate Choir performed 'Any Dream Will Do' from Joseph and his Technicolour Dream coat and 'Power in Me' coming joint second in their class with a score of 86. The Chamber Choir performed 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' by Simon and Garfunkel and a girl group medley of The Shirelles, The Andrew Sisters and Beyonce arranged by Miss Owens and came second in their class with a score of 90 which is classed as outstanding - the highest category.

Both choirs performances were exceptional and our students were a credit to St. Julie's, fully supporting all the other performers and making friends with the members of the Wirral Community Choir who have invited the Chamber Choir to collaborate with them in the near future.

A special thanks to Miss Owens for all her hard work, expertise and dedication to both the Intermediate and Chamber Choirs and Miss Crilly and Miss Dalton for their hard work and support with the Intermediate Choir. The students would also like to thank Mr Cookson for accompanying both choirs and all the staff who accompanied them to the Festival and came to support them on the day.
