One Day Closure: 30th November
A letter containing the following text has been circulated to parents:
23 November 2011
Dear Parents/Carers
I am writing to inform you that St Julie's Catholic High School will be closed on Wednesday 30 November 2011 as a result of strike action by the Teacher Unions - NUT, ATL and NASUWT, as well as Support Staff Unions including UNISON.
This national day of action has been called due to changes in Pension arrangements. This is a national issue which will be affecting schools up and down the country, as well as a whole raft of other public sector services.
We are unable to offer any service in school on Wednesday 30 November 2011 as it has been confirmed today, 23 November 2011, that over 90% of Teachers and a large proportion of Support Staff will be on strike.
School will continue as normal for all other days in that week.
I can only apologise for the inconvenience this will cause and reiterate that this is not a local issue but a national issue that is impacting on schools up and down the country.
With kindest regards.
Yours faithfully
Tim Alderman
